On Concrete and System Dependencies

The exact same law applies to enterprise database migrations. If your atomic sync boundaries or swap patterns are flawed, the entire microservice layer above it will eventually fracture.

When pouring structural concrete foundations for a new construction project, failure in Phase 0 multiplies costs in Phase 2. There is no quick fix for a shifting base. If the composition is off or the excavation is uneven, the structure built on top is compromised by design.

In product leadership, we often talk about agility, but true agility requires an unyielding technical base. Rushing into implementation without validating transaction boundaries or data isolation layers is the structural equivalent of pouring wet cement over shifting mud. Build the base right, or don’t build at all.
